Mum is dying to see this movie, but to buy it on itunes is $19 and that is just a little tooooo much, $4.99 to rent on itunes, but she wants a dvd of it. oh well she will have to wait

OMG Mum is in Excrutiating pain

Well 2 days ago on Tuesday mum had one of her back teeth pulled out (she has lovely teath that she has always been proud of then a dentist messed one up about 5 years ago and it has given her nothing but problems ever sinse) so she went to the dentist who said it had a crack and needs removing, so on Tuesday she had to have it pulled after a  week of antibiotics for an infection that had set in. She has been in total pain ever sinse and has had no sleep. Poor mum

MUM makes things when she worries

When mum gets worried about life and what is going to happen to her she gets the urge to make things, (that is how my cross stitch got started) well this weekend not only did she 98% finish my cross stitch, she was so worried about stuff she decided to organise her jewellery and made herself a jewellery holder for her wall. Pity she doesn’t have enough money for bricks and mortar, she could have built a house by now.... lol :)

She started with a plain old picture frame she had lying around, then found some wooden and brass knobs, some brass hooks and some decorative leaf veins and buttons. I think it is pretty good seeing as it cost nothing.

 



CROSS STITCH... 98% finished, only 2% to go

Well… mum has done me proud on her cross stitch of me, she has totally finished the cross stitching part of it, all she has to do is the black outlines (she needs to practice this before she does it as it is the first time she has ever done this.) and then frame it with a nice scrapbook style boarder…she can see it all in her head :). The next time you see a post for this cross stitch will be when she has completely finished it.

Mum is pink mad at work

Not sure how many of you know this; but although mum does not like pink in her home, she loves the colour pink, especially at work, it cheers her up and makes the day a little happier... It is the sparkly pink diamante mouse that cheers her up the most... ;)

Sniffing me

mum loves sniffing me, one time she sniffed so hard a loose feather went up her nose. I laughed... but mum didn't laugh so much... :)

Toes Kissed

I love having my toes kissed and I also love it when mum blows raspberries on the underside of my footers... (or that is why she thinks I put my foot on her mouth)... between you and me it is actually to shut her up... she never stops talking... ;)

New 3ft Aquarium

Mum finally got an aquarium to fit her stand and it has a wooden lid (I feel like I live inside a tree with the amount of wooden stuff she has in this house) it took her 6 hours to swap over tanks and get this one set up. It looks stunning and now we can get some more fish. And the other one has already sold on eBay...

Just my cheek left...

Mum is so close to finishing the cross stitch of me, all she has left to do is my cheek, she is so proud of herself, she has the frame to put it in and the design to go around it is bouncing about in her head. It will be her birthday present to herself at the end of the month. She says it will be the best birthday present ever.... ;) 

Grrr weight gain...

Mum is really angry wih herself. Last April 2012 we went to the vet for my yearly check up and I weighed 132 grams, the vet said I needed to lose at least 10 grams as she could not even feel my liver to check if it was alright and if possible go down to about 116 grams which she said was healthy for a Quaker that would mean a total loss of 16 grams... well mum got me down to 117 grams by November she was so proud of herself and of me off course, but gradually over winter I have been gaining a little weight here and there... then today she weighed me and I was up to 126 grams, she is kicking herself she is so upset with herself for letting me gain weight again. now she has me on a diet again. OH JOY.... we need to get me back down to 117 grams by April for the next visit to the vet. Ahhhhhhhhhhhrgggg

- 28^th Jan 2013: Now she is definitely over half way through my cross stitch, she is hoping to finish it before the end of February and already has the next one lined up

Cold Days

Brrrrr the past 2 days have been sooooo cold, look at mums pictures out the window at work, if it's not snowing it's frost... I am so glad I am snuggled up in the warm at home... ;) It is a tiny bit warmer today, but apparently it is suposed to snow later and maybe through the weekend... I will have to snuggle up with mum under the fluffy blanket and keep warm

Cross stitch of me half way to finished

So anyway mum has always wanted a cross stitch of me her favorite bird in the world... ME... ;) she would hint to her friends who did cross stitch that she would even pay someone to do it but none of them got the hint.... hmmmm. So mum being mum decided she would do it herself. So she practiced a couple of hours on a little square and then went for it on the A4 picture of my head.
 
Here is her progress:
 
- 1st Dec 2012: Mum got an A4 piece of fabric and printed of an A4 cartoonized picture of me and drew a pencil outline of me on the Fabric this is the picture she is using

 
- 4th Dec 2012: Mum only did 2 hours on the 4th she is still a newby and this is how far she got. I am pretty chuffed with her I think she started off well

 

 

Anyway she put it down for a while as she had too much to do and other things that needed doing

 

- 28th Dec 2012: She took a little break and then had her work Xmas shut down from 21^st Dec and she started doing the cross stitch again.. 1-2 hours a night and by the 28^th this was how far she had got

 

  

So mum continued doing 1-2 hours a night until she returned to work on the 3^rd, then slowed down a little again only doing 1-2 hours as and when she gets the chance
 
- 13^th Jan 2013: I think she is about half way through, she has sped up a lot and is enjoying it so much. And this is how much she has done up until the 13^th (yesterday)

 

Mum is a little angry with herself

Well as you know I have been on my diet as per the vets instructions, so I went from 132grams in april, and I finally lost 16 grams and got down to 117 grams, mum was over the moon happy as larry... until today when she looked at the scales and I have gone up to 123 grams, she is beating herself up about it, she knows it is her fault for feeding me too much, so she is a little angry with herself today, so back on the diet for me I think. this is going to be hard as Xmas is coming up and she is going to be home with me for 12 days solid. ooooohhhhh this is going to be hard. IT MUST BE DONE....

Fantastic Long week-end

Well mum had Monday and Tuesday off work and was home most of the time apart from Monday lunch which she went out with a friend. We had a fantastic time, I have been so cuddly lately and snuggled a lot with mum over the past few days, she gave me lots of kisses and we had a wonderful time. I can't wait until her next 2 days off near the end of the month, it will be another cuddly week-end I am sure (((0)))

MUM found the movie 'The real Macaw'

Yippi mum finally tracked down a copy of the movie the real macaw, it had to come all the way from Poland, but it's in English and region 2 for Europe. woo hoo, we will watch it this weekend with popcorn and juju (thats juice for non parrot talkers) I can't wait (and nor can mum)

CELEBRATION TIME... I'VE DONE IT... and more

I have finally done it and I have gone one step further, In April I was told by the vet I was had to lose 10 grams from a chunky 132g down to medium size 122g, well I have struggled, but today I am proud to say after my morning weigh in today I am now past the 10 grams and down to 119 grams, that is a massive loss of 13 grams. I am soooooo chuffed and mum is super happy with me. I know the vet wants me to be a perfect weight for my Quaker size of  a slim 110 grams -116 grams, but 119 grams is so good for me right now, I have not been 119 grams for at least the past 3 years. SOOO PROUD OF MYSELF (OK it has taken6 months, but better losing it slowly and keeping it off than losing it fast and putting it back on again....) :)

 

TIME TO CELEBRATE WOO HOO

ONE MONTH GONE!!!

Oh dear I have just realised that I have not been on my blog for a month, I blame mum, she is soooo busy she has not had time to turn on the computer to let me type anything on my blog.

So what has happened in the past month... well let’s see, mum has tried some baby food with me and I just luuuuuuurve it, carrots and potato. even mum says it smells nice.

Winter is starting to set in and it is starting to get a little cold here, so mum has got the blanket out to cover her knees and I love sitting on and snuggling up to this blanket. The nights are getting darker so much earlier now and I don't like it.

OH YES, MY GOOD NEWS... I AM AT MY GOAL WEIGHT... WOOHOO, mum is going to try and get me to lose another 5 grams, but she is so proud of me for losing the 10 grams I was supposed to lose... it only took me 5 months... lol I hope I don't go and put it all back on again.
